Physical inactivity, sedentary habits and eating habits among Moroccan adolescents

In Morocco, noncommunicable diseases were responsible for 80% of all deaths in 2016. These risk factors are closely related to diet and physical activity. Therefore, this study aims determine the prevalence activity, sedentary behaviors eating habits among a sample Moroccan adolescents aged 14 19 years.This is cross-sectional involving 669 (285 boys 384 girls) recruited during year 2019 Province Sidi Kacem-Morocco. Data on behaviors, activity collected using validated questionnaire. Overall, 38% did not meet recommended duration one hour moderate-intensity generally more active than girls ( p <0.00), 36% reported watching TV 2 hours/day 42% used computer similar period. Girls (p=0.005). For habits, there significantly who met scores healthier foods, but exceeded score three days intake per week unhealthiest foods. The behavior, inactivity unhealthy appear be moderately high, nutritional education programs needed promote an living healthy eating.
